XJTLU Wisdom Lake Academy of Pharmacy aims at the forefront of global scientific and technological advances and focuses on major national and industry needs. With persistent research and innovative efforts, the researchers of the academy have published more than 260 journal articles in the past years. They have made a series of technological innovations published in internationally renowned academic journals such as Nano Letters, PNAS, Cancer Gene Therapy , Molecular Neurobiology, One Health, Frontiers in Molecular Biosciences, and so on. The following are updates and reports on some of the research achievements:

  • Dr. Chengxiu Ling and Dr. Ying Chen’s Teams Identify the Association Between Housework Frequency and Cognitive Impairment in Chinese Older Adults Based on CLHLS.
  • Dr. Hang Liu’s Team Develops Single-Cell-Pore-Sized 3D Scaffolds Advance Retinal Cell Therapy.
  • Novel Pan-EGFR Degraders Overcome Lung Cancer Drug Resistance Challenge, with Wisdom Lake Academy of Pharmacy Participating in Breakthrough Therapy Development.
  • Dr. Gang Ruan’s Group Develops a New Coassembly Supraparticle for Drug Delivery.
  • Dr. Sijin Wu’s group publishes research on DNA nanoflower Oligo-PROTAC for targeted degradation of FUS to treat neurodegenerative diseases in Nature Communications.
  • Dr. Meng Lee’s Team Reveals T1Pr Regulates Cell Cycle via DNA Damage–Collagen II Axis, Advancing Precision Therapy for HNSCC.
  • Dr. Sijin Wu’s group reveals in Cell Reports that ENKD1 regulates the GPPS1-RAC1 signaling axis to inhibit excessive inflammation mechanisms.
  • Dr. Dawei Ding’s research group has made breakthrough progress in the application of CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing technology for the reprogramming of stemness in triple-negative breast cancer and combination therapy.
  • Dr. Sijin Wu’s research group published the results of drug design for ApTACs targeting key enzymes of the hepatitis C virus in J Med. Chem.
  • Dr. Sijin Wu’s research group reveals the activation mechanism of LAP regulated by PDCD6 through the modulation of lactylation based on molecular simulations.
  • Dr. Jiaqi Wang’s research group revealed the aggregation rules of “ultra-microproteins” based on molecular simulation and artificial intelligence.
  • Prof. Mu Wang’s research team has discovered a new protective mechanism for the unfolded protein response: PERK-mediated ubiquitination and degradation of SRP14, which alleviates endoplasmic reticulum stress.
  • Dr. Sijin Wu’s research group has discovered a new drug, Ciwujianoside E, that inhibits the proliferation and invasion of Burkitt’s lymphoma cells.
  • Dr. Gang Ruan’s team has developed a new type of nanomedicine formulation that achieves ultra-high drug loading, ultra-high colloidal stability, and rapid and complete lysosome-responsive release.
  • Dr. Sijin Wu’s research team has developed a new PROTAC technology based on DNA aptamers for treating p53 mutant cancers.
  • Prof. Mu Wang’s team has revealed a novel connection between ω-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids and the migration mechanism of prostate cancer.
  • Dr. Shining Loo’s research team has discovered the potential of peptides as active components of ginseng.
  • Dr. Shining Loo’s research team has discovered a method for the rapid oxidative folding of cysteine-containing peptides and mini-proteins.
  • Dr. Tenglong Li’s research team has revealed the marginal and herd protective effects of COVID-19 vaccines.
  • Dr. Xi Zhang’s research team has discovered the regulatory mechanism of the immune function of microglia.
  • Dr. Ying Chen’s research team has discovered the differential trajectory of psychological symptoms in adolescents returning to school after the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as the potential predictive factors for high-risk trajectories.
  • Dr. Chengxiu Ling’s research team has established a joint spatiotemporal model for moderate and severe air pollution.
  • Dr. Xi Zhang’s research team has revealed the molecular regulatory mechanism of synaptic vesicle recycling.
  • Dr. Ling’s research team has discovered for the first time an extreme association between precipitation in the United States and mortality rates of infectious diseases.
  • Professor Wang’s research group published an important study on succinylation of prostate cancer cells in the journal Life Science Alliance.
  • Dr. Ruan’s research team has discovered a new method to deliver nanoparticles into stem cells
  • Dr. Huang’s research project has received funding and policy support from the Jiangsu Provincial Science and Technology Special Fund (Basic Research Program, Natural Science Foundation) in 2023.
  • Professor Wang’s team made breakthrough progress in reversing cisplatin resistance in chemotherapy.
  • Professor Chen’s research group discovered the association ?between biodiversity and Human health disparities ?for the first time.
  • Dr. Zhang’s research group identified molecular machineries of α-synuclein secretion.
  • Dr. Ruan’s team has developed a simple new design for nano carriers that can promote the crossing of multiple drug delivery barriers.
  • Dr. Ruan’s team discovered that a novel nano delivery carrier can enter the cell nucleus through a non-classical nuclear entry mechanism.
  • Professor Fu’s team discovered the mechanism of plasmalogen improve cognitive function in aging mice.
