May 24, 2025, the 19th Global Tech Network – a leading social event focused on global technology and innovation – was successfully held in Shanghai. The event was co-hosted by Plug and Play China and the TGO Kunpeng Club under the theme “Ecosystem Reconstruction and Breakthroughs in Emerging Markets under the Globalization Strategy of AI.” As a key player in promoting integration between higher education and industry, the College of Industry-Entrepreneurs (CIE) & HeXie Management Research Centre (HeXie Academy) of Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU) was invited to participate in the event. It attracted representatives from top tech companies, industry experts, and innovation leaders to explore how to build a more resilient and open global industrial innovation ecosystem amid the accelerating evolution of AI technologies.

Dr. Xinning Wang and Ms. Ruisi Fan from the CIE & HeXie Academy at XJTLU, attended as guest representatives. They engaged in meaningful dialogue with experts and practitioners from various sectors, focusing on the role of universities in providing academic support, knowledge output, and interdisciplinary collaboration within the evolving AI-driven industrial ecosystem.

At the event, representatives from Amazon Web Services (AWS), SenseTime, DeerAPI, and ShareCreators delivered in-depth presentations on key topics such as AI infrastructure development, strategies for global market expansion, digital asset management, and ecosystem co-creation. These discussions showcased the multidimensional evolution and strategic thinking of AI – from technology platforms to business implementation, and from local practices to global deployment.

Through keynote speeches and open networking sessions, the event provided a platform for both in-depth and wide-ranging exchanges. Representatives from diverse sectors engaged in insightful discussions on AI technology trends, ecosystem collaboration mechanisms, and emerging market strategies, aiming to build consensus and seek cooperative opportunities in a globalized context.

Looking ahead, CIE & HeXie Academy will continue to deepen the engagement in cutting-edge AI fields and actively strengthen strategic collaboration with Plug and Play China. Building on XJTLU’s distinctive “industry–university–research–government–society” ecosystem and Plug and Play China’s extensive global innovation platform and industrial resource network, the two parties will focus on co-developing industry-oriented joint talent training programmes, hands-on courses, and boot camps. We will also co-host international competitions and innovation summits to discover and nurture high-potential projects. Through this collaborative synergy, XJTLU will further leverage its strengths in academic research, cross-cultural talent cultivation, and knowledge creation, joining forces with Plug and Play China to power the sustainable growth of a globally connected innovation ecosystem.
